Caring Hands for Africa was established in May 2020 and registered as an NGO in both the
United States and Nigeria. The organization is neutral, and is not inclined to any political
or religious doctrine. As a non-profit organization, we are completely unbiased as to gender
and social concerns.
This organization was born from the founders' experience and desire to empower the rural
poor;especially children who suffer the most from inequalities. The children suffer from a
high rate of diseases and malnutrition which can be easily prevented. Because of poverty,
children are exposed to distressing conditions; including inadequate and poor-quality foods.
There is also the problem of water-borne diseases which can in the worst-case scenario
result in loss of lives. Poor children are forced to learn in deplorable conditions where
achieving academic excellence is a difficult task. Some are even forced to drop out of
school or even engage in manual jobs to help pay their school fees.
With the understanding that a country's future lays in her children, the founders decided to
establish this organization to break the vicious cycle of poverty. To achieve this
objective, the organization works with partners to implement integrated programs. These
partners include government officials, funding agencies, individuals and communities. The
best interest of our beneficiaries remains at the heart of our operations and
decision-making processes.
Caring Hands for Africa is committed to the values of respect for human dignity and
sustainability. This informs the capacity-building aspects of each intervention. The
beneficiaries and caregivers are made to understand the importance of various actions and
they willingly participate in the programs. For us, the economic empowerment of
beneficiaries is important for their dignity as it is for sustaining the gains of the
intervention.
